During the period, she gradually found her passion for music,she made up her mind to keep learning, enjoying and spreading music all the time. She has won many top prizes at local and international competitions such as 1st place at 2023 Elite Internatinal Music Competition, 1st place in Chopin Group at the 6th Singapore International Piano Competition (Amateur) 2023, 2 Platinum prizes and Technical Mastery Musical Genius  at the Global Genius Music Competition 2023 autumn season, Gold award at the 28th PIARA Internatinal Piano Festival, 1st Place at the 9th China Youth Music Competition Hummingbird music award , Season Top 1 at the Global Genius Music Competition 2024 winter season. She was invited to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York in April, 2023.

Ruoheng Mao carries an enthusiasm for an abundance of types of music. For example, other than classical music, she enjoys singing, performing and even composition. She once played the main role, Annie in her school production of Annie Jr., and her voice is pure and free. She has also recorded a lot of videos for many songs, and some are her own. Her own music compositions take in various styles. She composed a lot of songs entirely by herself and would play the piano while singing. Her compositions all carry deep, heartfelt emotions and are rich in wild imaginations.

Other than these, she also likes to spread her music to more people. She created some videos on REDnote teaching techniques about piano, and they received over 500 thousand views. Her simple and logical teachings received a lot of attention and support from people who study how to play piano and people who love playing piano.
